January 21, 2009: pillow

After the first day of my sixth semester at William and Mary, I was EXHAUSTED. Perhaps it was the schedule? I have a morning class, and then in the afternoon I have two classes that take up four hours. One of them is ballet, which makes me very happy, but it's a challenge. After class, I did a lot of running- I picked up Brynn from the airport, and that was the best part of my day. I missed her so much!

January 20, 2009: inauguration

My roommate Amanda and her boyfriend Shane went out to dinner on Tuesday. They were looking fabulous, and wanted me to take a picture of them, so I did. (It looks like a first date- adorable!)

Happy Baracksmas! (I'm not making a comparison to Christ- I'm just borrowing a joyous holiday name.) I SO ready for this change.

January 19, 2009: bad

Most of the pictures from today are pictures Andrew took when he "borrowed" my camera. ):

January 18, 2009: saw

Mike, Matt, and I are watching the Saw movies together (sometimes with friends.) We just finished Saw 2. What you're looking at is the wineglass I decorated for Mike for Christmas. As I still don't drink, and obviously wasn't drunk, I'm just as perplexed as you are as to why I took this photo. It's January, we weren't in classes yet, and it was a Sunday night, so maybe this picture is a good shot of Relaxed.

January 17, 2009: charly

This is my new friend Charly. He's an alum, and was visiting for the weekend. He's a pretty nice guy, is fluent in Spanish, and he has lovely eyes, but we decided to pull the strings on his hood...

In all seriousness, though, it was a good day for making new friends.

January 16, 2009: olives

This is my sister. We went to Olive Garden with the visiting relatives, and dropped me off in W'burg. (Alone.) I was happy to be back, but sad about them leaving... and sad about being alone in the cold.

January 15, 2009: alone

This is the only time of day I was able to have alone time; I took this shot in the bathroom either before or after brushing my teeth.

I'm not bothered by not having any other alone time. Having relatives visit is awesome. (:

January 14, 2009: suburbia

I took this while I was walking the dog. It's my next-door neighbor's tree. We need more trees on my street, I think.

January 13, 2009: bed

Where I spent most of my time over break. (I'm sorry that this isn't terribly interesting! Sometimes I go through photo slumps.)

January 12, 2009: pasta

This is my friend Colton's friend, who goes by his last name that I can't spell; we will refer to him as P. The three of us (and Liz) went out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, and P finished all of his food! It was a proud moment for all- if you didn't know, the portions at the Cheescake Factory are GINORMOUS. (:

January 11, 2009: webcam

I bought this with my babysitting money from ... about two hours prior to the time when I bought it. Mike's telling me to buy it wasn't the sole reason I decided to; I had been thinking about getting one for a while. And with so many friends abroad this semester, it'll definitely be put to good use!

January 10, 2009: learning

Our dog, Buddy, frequently enjoys books such as A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and The Lord of the Rings series. That, and the library at the school where my mom works is going to have a display about pets reading.

January 9, 2009: me

Another self-portrait. Why? Well, either way, you were going to get a picture of me. But the other ones were of me doing a bridge. (1), that's on Facebook already as a profile picture, (2), Jack thinks it looks like something out of the Exorcist, and (3), I'm trying not to be a show-off (although... I don't know, maybe most people can do a bridge.) If I learn how to do something really impressive, maybe I will post that.

Also, I didn't take anymore pictures this day. (Which is why they only ones were of me.)

p.s. I am not Skelator; I don't know why my collarbone is doing that.
p.p.s. Self portraits = word vomit?

January 8, 2009: dentistry

Went to the dentist! I spend a great deal of time making sure that my teeth are clean. It's more of a matter of hygiene than vanity in this case. I had a little bit of a cavity once in 2007, but I think the dentist said nothing had to be done about it, so it was "not quite" or "not really" a cavity? I don't know. I'd still like to say I've never had one. I'm not sure if that's true, but if it's not, then I won't be having any more! I also don't want to have to get dentures when I'm old.

January 7, 2009: laptop

I didn't really leave the house all day. ): Which is mildly lame. I will try to take pictures of more interesting things! In the meantime, here's another peek into my world. This is my laptop.

January 6, 2009: butterfly

Serena and I went on an adventure! We got into the Butterfly exhibit for free because it's Tuesday! BUTTERFLIES EVERYWHERE; it was really, really cool. ... We also almost got lost on the road, but that's another part of the adventure.

January 5, 2009: the other side

This is the other side of my room, looking from the bookshelf. There isn't much on that wall besides my closet, and the picture with my name; it's from Hawaii, '89. I was with Grandma in New Orleans while my parents sat in the sun. On the closet door from the top left, down (1) my Hufflepuff pendant, (2) a picture from Homecoming, senior year of high school, (3) a poem from my mom, (4) a postcard from the Spy museum with the Moscow rules on it, (4) a newspaper article titled The End of the Bush Era, and (5) a doorhanger that Jocelyn made me.

January 4, 2009: books

I went to the library today, and these are most of the books I got. I really like going to the library; it's a good chance to relax and get lost in a good way. Girls In Pants is the third book in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series. I've never gotten a book on CD, but ... I really wanted to read the rest of the series, and this was the only way.

January 3, 2009: bookshelf

Today we put up a third shelf above my bed! By we, I mean mostly Dad- yes, I put up the shelf, but that meant moving bracers around and physically sitting the shelf on top of them. Dad had to move the parts that are attached to the wall, because they were too close together anyway, and the two shelves I'd had up before were bowed, even though I tried to keep heavy things like books in the middle.

I'll count the ducks for you someday. Bunnies... just counted, there are about 16. I might've skipped one or added one by mistake.

Sorry about my windchime being in the way!

I'd take a picture of having been out, but I didn't leave the house. I was pretty sick. ):

January 2, 2009: scrabble

I won by a lot. Mom and I went out and bought this edition of Scrabble (the board swivels and the pieces can't slide off). The awesome move? SILL. Also, ANOLE. Pretty sweet.

January 1, 2009: Hello!

Happy New Year!!!
I've decided to take a picture for every day this year... let's see how this project goes! I'm looking forward to it.

xoxo,
Gabs
